OM NAMA SHIVAYAH! OM NAMA SHIVAYAH! OM NAMA SHIVAYAH!

This was the most fulfilling day of my life.  We completed Kailash Parikram on horse and by trekking in three continuous days and on the concluding day we came back to Manasa Sarovaram and had a holy dip.  This was something which I wished to perform for the last few years.  In the morning at five o’clock, even before breakfast, we drove through the opposite side of Manasa Sarovaram and completed a Circumambulation or Parikram of Manasa Sarovaram also.  It was a little bit dark and our drivers were not even able to get to the highway.  Anyway they drove through some fields and got into the highway.  Then they were not sure which direction we had to go.  After a little debate among themselves somehow they did get into the right direction.

We had our packed breakfast in the jeep itself in order to save time.  Our plan was to cover all the four days drive in a single day in this return drive.  For lunch we all got together in one of the vast fields on the side of river Brahmaputhra.  Please see the some of the pictures below.  Also please access the link provided herein for more pictures.

A landslide being repaired.  As the road was broad enough there was no hindrance to the traffic

A place of worship for Nomadic Tibetans.  We could see Buddha - Ganpathi - Mahadeva - Vishnu and many different deities either carved or painted on these pieces of rocks (1)

Though we had planned to stay overnight at Nyalam due to overcrowding on that day we could not get the accommodation there.  So we further drove down to another township called Zhangmu.  To some extend it was a blessing in disguise.  For one thing Zhangmu is closer to Nepal border so that next day we had to drive a little bit less.  And for another thing Zhangmu being closer to Nepal border it is also more developed and the guesthouses were with better facilities and cleaner too.

The dinner on that day was fabulous.  Even the Pakoras for evening snacks were fantastic.  Dhani and other female members also participated in cooking the food.  We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and stay.
We even had hot water available in the hotel. But at an altitude of about seven thousand feet I and we did not feel the need for a shower.

On both sides you can see the magnanimous Himalayan Mountain.  The greeneries in the Himalayan ranges at this area are awesome.  I could not and did not take any pictures from this area as there are many check posts and thorough checking conducted by Chinese police as this area near to the border is considered as extremely sensitive.  I was warned if the policemen see us taking any pictures the camera will be confiscated and even I could be put into some Chinese cell.  It was not worth taking any risk.  It is needless to mention here that Tibetan guide cannot help us with Chinese authorities.  The local Tibetans are silently struggling for their independence.  As a matter of fact we all had to wait near the check post until all our jeeps arrived.  The policeman counted even the numbers and ensured that no more and no less than what is stipulated in the group visa is in the group.  Also they checked driving license and other photo ID cards of the drivers and the Tibetan guide.  I was told that Tibetans are not issued with any Passport and not allowed to go outside their country.
